Define your operating duty

Start with three inputs; maximum feed and site constraints follow in the project brief.

Primary Crushing

PE / PEX Jaw Crusher

PE and PEX jaw-crusher models for granite, basalt, river stone, and ore duties. PE covers primary hard-rock reduction up to the listed 1,020 mm feed limit, while PEX variants use tighter discharge settings for secondary or fine crushing.

Selection method / 03

Confirm the duty before the model number.

Machines with the same name do not suit the same project. Reliable selection starts by recording material behavior, size limits and production goals before narrowing the equipment and chamber range.

  1. 01Material behaviorOre type, hardness, abrasiveness, clay and moisture.
  2. 02Feed envelopeMaximum lump, size distribution and upstream feeding.
  3. 03Product targetRequired gradation, shape, fines and downstream process.
  4. 04Operating contextHourly duty, shifts, power supply and site constraints.

What you receive

  • A model and process shortlist
  • Explicit selection assumptions
  • Key specifications and supply scope
  • A quote brief that is easier to compare

Reference route / 04

Closed-circuit hard-rock example

This route explains why equipment occupies each process position. It is not a delivered-project claim and does not replace selection against samples and site conditions.

Material
Hard rock such as granite or basalt
Reference duty
150–250 t/h
Process intent
Control product bands and recirculate oversize
  1. 01

    Feed & pre-screen

Stabilise the bed entering the jaw and remove fines that do not need primary crushing.

  2. 02

    Primary reduction

A PE / PEX jaw crusher is sized around the maximum lump and first reduction duty.

  3. 03

    Secondary crushing

A PY spring cone uses chamber type and closed-side setting to reduce abrasive hard rock.

  4. 04

    Classify & return

Screens split target products and return oversize to the cone to close the circuit.

Final selection still requires

  • Full feed-size distribution
  • Strength, abrasiveness, clay and moisture
  • Each target product band and proportion
  • Power, site and operating schedule
